The Tuning Fork is a comfortable, timeless gathering place for the special neighborhood that is Studio City. We feature an amazing selection of California craft beer, sustainable and small family produced wines, and seasonal comfort food in a warm, inviting environment.
It’s a friendly hangout where local residents, business people, actors and crews who walk over from CBS Studios a block away, musicians and other creative types all feel at home. Conversation abounds at The Tuning Fork, where friendships between guests and between guests and staff seem to blossom every day.
The Tuning Fork was designed for friendliness, comfort and sociability in mind.
We started with the warmth of the wood bar and tables from AmercianMAAD, furniture makers who specialize in Los Angeles produced tabletops made of material taken from deconstructed American buildings. A feeling of soul emanates from the richness and history of the wood, providing the foundation of the Tuning Fork’s warmth and welcome.
The walls feature the distinctive work of Los Angeles-based artisan Claire Ouimet, founder of Artful Finishes. The original, hand-painted design is based on Grateful Dead inspired 60’s psychedelics, but toned down and contemporized to complement the soulfulness of the wood.
Natural sunlight from the skylight and broad windows bring the room alive with a bright, airy feeling during the day. The feeling remains lively yet perhaps a bit more relaxed after the sun goes down, with soft lighting casting a mellow glow of intimacy throughout the space.
And there’s always music. The staff spins vinyl or streams their favorites, and eclectic mix of vintage rock and roll, deep cuts and new indie music. Sunday and Monday nights feature live, acoustic performances from established and up and coming Los Angeles musicians playing originals or bringing classic songs to life through their own unique voices.
